Following on from a request to Garrowhill Community Council to provide an update on the toddlers play park area in Garrowhill Park I received the response below.
I was concerned that after so many years of no work being carried out despite promises being made. I have had many discussions with the officers and now there seems to be movement.
Unfortunately it looks as if it won't be ready for this summer which is disappointing, however you can see from the response that there is now a possible completion date to look forward to.
I will continue to monitor this and keep everyone informed.
Dear Councillor Lalley
Thank you for your recent enquiry.
I can advise that the proposed work to the Garrowhill Park Toddlers Play Area is still scheduled to go ahead this year. However, the contractor’s start on site has been delayed due to the confirmed presence of grassland water voles. We continue to liaise with biodiversity colleagues to ensure that both disturbance of this protected species, and alterations to the play area proposals, are kept to a minimum. I do not have a timescale for any works at this stage but anticipate completion by the end of the calendar year.
